RED BULL 2015-2017 PROJECT OVERVIEW

Ecocoast has been partnering with event planners, such as Blink Experience and Al Laith Event Services, for the last couple of years to provide marine equipment for Red Bull events in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Red Bull Air Race World Championship: The races were established in 2003, but the 2011, 2012 and 2013 series were cancelled, due to restructuring at Red Bull HQ and the implementation of new safety measures. The races returned to the UAE in 2014. Ecocoast was contracted to deliver floating (videowall) pontoons – the works also included design, fabrication, assembly and installation – for the Red Bull Air Race events in Abu Dhabi in the years 2015 and 2016. The championship races took place from a purpose-built race village on the Corniche breakwater along Hiltonia Beach – an eight-kilometer beachfront.

Red Bull Flugtag: The first Red Bull Flugtag took place in Vienna, Austria, in 1992. Dubai has hosted the event in 2005, 2007 and returned in 2015 after an 8-year break. Ecocoast was also involved in Red Bull Flugtag 2015 – an event in which competitors attempt to fly homemade flying machines, launched off a pier at Dubai Creek Park. Ecocoast was responsible for platform anchoring, i.e. handling blocks and mooring chains to ensure the platforms stayed in place and execute a safe, thrilling experience for competitors and spectators.

Barasti Red Bull Open Water Party: For the second year in a row, Barasti hosted the Red Bull Open Water Party on the sandy shores of one of the most popular beach destinations in Dubai in May 2016. The first Red Bull Open Water Party took place in October 2015. Ecocoast supplied temporary plastic cubi pontoons for the second installment of the event.
