FAQS

Ecocoast manufactures a range of IALA-compliant navigation products in-house, including navigation buoys, special marker buoys, lighted buoys, demarcation buoys, and custom mooring systems. These are designed and produced to meet international standards for marine safety, coastal navigation and waterway marking. Our in-house capabilities ensure quality control, faster lead times, and the ability to customize solutions for ports, harbors and offshore environments.

The installation process for navigation buoys depends on several factors, including buoy type, project location, seabed conditions and site accessibility. In general, key steps include site assessment, deployment planning, mooring system installation, buoy positioning, and final checks for compliance and performance.

Ecocoast supports this process with our in-house Moorforce engineering service, which provides technical calculations and mooring design tailored to each site. For project-specific timelines, we recommend getting in touch with our team.

Our smart marine lanterns combine energy‑efficient LED lighting with a secure, multi‑network remote monitoring platform. They include built-in GSM, Satellite and LoRa connectivity to stream real-time diagnostics. The system uses predictive analytics to detect drift, low-light levels and equipment faults, reducing physical maintenance visits by up to 25%.

As an IALA member, Ecocoast designs all Aids to Navigation (AtoN) products in accordance with the IALA Maritime Buoyage System. Each buoy’s color, shape, light characteristics and positioning is carefully configured to meet both international standards and relevant national or local regulations.

Ecocoast is advancing the “physical + digital” AtoN vision by integrating its reliable buoy and lantern hardware with cloud‑connected sensors, two‑way communications and remote maintenance software. This transforms each AtoN into an intelligent node within a marine IoT network, enabling it to not only mark safe passages but also stream real-time performance and environmental data for smarter marine operations.

While not classified as AtoN under IALA, Ecocoast’s Water Quality Monitoring Buoys feature sensors that measure temperature, salinity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and other parameters. These sensors continuously transmit data to cloud platforms, supporting proactive and real-time environmental monitoring.
