Custom marine barrier design case study
EcoCoast

Case Study: Kennet River, Blakes Lock, United Kingdom.

A leading consulting firm engaged Ecocoast to design a custom marine barrier for a petrochemical plant’s water intake system in Qatar. The goal was to protect the intake from marine debris while ensuring long-term operational reliability. Our marine engineering team developed a fully tailored solution, incorporating unique marine barrier floats, a jellyfish net and a specialized anchoring system. The design was intended to be integrated into the project’s tender documents for the EPC contractor.

Given the project’s complexity, our engineers created a detailed Project Design Report that addressed environmental conditions, specialized installation methods and anchoring requirements. While the barrier is yet to be installed, the initial design phase was successfully delivered and well received by the client, demonstrating Ecocoast’s ability to provide innovative, safe and reliable marine engineering solutions for challenging industrial environments.
