Before & After- Al Hamra Marina pile sleeving

Before & After photos of our pile sleeving project at Al Hamra Marina in Ras Al Khaimah.

Due to strong wave conditions, there was considerable wear and tear on the facilities, and in particular the docking pontoons. The piles were very rusted and towards the end of their lifespan. Al Hamra Group management decided to extend the lifespan of the piles, and liked the idea of using UHMW-PE pile covers because it is a new technology and brings a nicer feel to the piles.

Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) pile sleeves provide a rich and attractive appearance that is very desirable, while providing the best wear protection and corrosion resistance available. With molecular weight of 3-6 million (compared to pipe grade high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a molecular weight of 60,000), it demonstrates extreme wear resistance, even better than steel.

Ecocoast is the exclusive partner and installation contractor for the patented UHMW-PE pile sleeves in the Middle East.
