FAQS

  • Made from 100% recyclable polyethylene, these buoys don’t require harmful anti-fouling paints, reducing environmental impact.
  • Their lightweight, modular build is 30% lighter than hybrid buoys, making shipping and deployment easier and more efficient. It minimizes fuel use and lowers the overall environmental footprint of maritime operations.
  • The buoys also require minimal maintenance, further reducing the need for frequent site visits and associated emissions.

The A2NGO monitoring tool enables real-time remote monitoring and management of buoy operations, providing live status updates and performance history through a secure web portal. It helps operators track the condition and location of navigation buoys, receive automatic alarms for any issues, and optimize maintenance schedules, ensuring higher availability and reliability of buoy systems.

The Ecobarrier ENB-1500 buoys are known for their high visibility, robust UV-stabilized polyethylene construction and compliance with IALA standards. Their modular design, integrated mooring eyes and closed-cell foam filling provide durability and stability, while customization options and compatibility with smart marine lanterns make them ideal for safe navigation.

Ecobarrier Navigation Buoys are highly durable in extreme weather, offering exceptional visibility and resilience even under harsh conditions. Constructed from UV-stabilized polyethylene and featuring robust designs, they provide additional protection in the unlikely event of damage, ensuring reliable performance and safety for navigational applications year-round.

Being 30% lighter than traditional hybrid models reduces transport and handling costs. Their fully polyethylene, modular construction also means lower maintenance, no need for anti-fouling paints and longer service intervals, making them a highly cost-effective choice for maritime operations.

The ENB‑1500 buoys are rated for water depths up to 30 meters, making them suitable for nearshore, waterways, port and harbor environments where reliable marking and navigation are required.

FAQS

Ecocoast manufactures a range of IALA-compliant navigation products in-house, including navigation buoys, special marker buoys, lighted buoys, demarcation buoys, and custom mooring systems. These are designed and produced to meet international standards for marine safety, coastal navigation and waterway marking. Our in-house capabilities ensure quality control, faster lead times, and the ability to customize solutions for ports, harbors and offshore environments.

The installation process for navigation buoys depends on several factors, including buoy type, project location, seabed conditions and site accessibility. In general, key steps include site assessment, deployment planning, mooring system installation, buoy positioning, and final checks for compliance and performance.

Ecocoast supports this process with our in-house Moorforce engineering service, which provides technical calculations and mooring design tailored to each site. For project-specific timelines, we recommend getting in touch with our team.

Our smart marine lanterns combine energy‑efficient LED lighting with a secure, multi‑network remote monitoring platform. They include built-in GSM, Satellite and LoRa connectivity to stream real-time diagnostics. The system uses predictive analytics to detect drift, low-light levels and equipment faults, reducing physical maintenance visits by up to 25%.

As an IALA member, Ecocoast designs all Aids to Navigation (AtoN) products in accordance with the IALA Maritime Buoyage System. Each buoy’s color, shape, light characteristics and positioning is carefully configured to meet both international standards and relevant national or local regulations.

Ecocoast is advancing the “physical + digital” AtoN vision by integrating its reliable buoy and lantern hardware with cloud‑connected sensors, two‑way communications and remote maintenance software. This transforms each AtoN into an intelligent node within a marine IoT network, enabling it to not only mark safe passages but also stream real-time performance and environmental data for smarter marine operations.

While not classified as AtoN under IALA, Ecocoast’s Water Quality Monitoring Buoys feature sensors that measure temperature, salinity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and other parameters. These sensors continuously transmit data to cloud platforms, supporting proactive and real-time environmental monitoring.
