One Year of Ecocoast’s Yanbu Factory: Driving Sustainable Marine Solutions in Saudi Arabia

It’s been over one year since our factory in Yanbu Royal Commission Industrial Park, Saudi Arabia, started operations. Strategically located along the Red Sea coast, this facility has already produced over 17,000 meters of marine barriers.

Read further how we help projects across the Kingdom reduce lead times and environmental impact.

Local Production, Faster Delivery

By manufacturing marine barriers locally, we removed the logistical hurdles of cross-border transportation. For our clients at NEOM, Amaala and The Red Sea sites, this means much shorter lead times, faster project execution and a significantly lower carbon footprint for their projects.

This milestone reinforces our commitment to expanding marine manufacturing in Saudi Arabia. We’re committed to delivering safer, cleaner and more sustainable solutions to developers, contractors and government partners, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

Reliable Local Supply for Coastal Protection Containers

While covering our Yanbu factory milestone, we’d like to emphasize one of our solutions…for shoreline stabilization. Our Yanbu facility continues to produce geotextile sand containers. These containers form a core part of our local manufacturing capability in the Kingdom. They’re essential for any project involving coastal protection and erosion control. The containers basically help protect beaches, development sites and infrastructure from the impacts of waves, storms and long‑term sea level changes.

Because we manufacture these in the Kingdom, we can respond immediately to the needs of shoreline contractors. There’s no need to rely on long-haul logistics for critical erosion control. The capacity and expertise is already on the ground.

Protecting Luxury Resorts

This capability is especially timely, given the rapid expansion of luxury beach resorts and coastal tourism hubs in KSA. The Red Sea coast alone is on track to host dozens of world-class resorts as part of major developments, like The Red Sea and Amaala. Together, they aim to bring 50 resorts and thousands of rooms online by 2030 as part of Vision 2030’s tourism goals. Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast is projected to attract millions of coastal tourists annually by 2030, with resorts already opening and more under construction. This growth makes shoreline protection solutions like geosynthetic containers increasingly critical.

As resorts open, natural tides and seasonal weather can lead to beach erosion. Geotextile containers are the standard “soft” engineering solution, stabilizing sand and protecting the shoreline while blending into the environment far better than traditional rock or concrete. By having a local production hub in Yanbu, we ensure Saudi Arabia’s new luxury destinations have immediate access to shoreline protection solutions.

In addition, recent updates to national beach regulations and safety frameworks underscore the Kingdom’s focus on sustainable coastal tourism. This makes local access to geotextile containers even more vital.

More Than Marine Barriers: A Full Service Offering

Beyond manufacturing, our Yanbu facility operates as a full-service marine hub, delivering:

1️⃣  End-to-end marine barrier solutions with installation support.
2️⃣  24/7 service models for silt curtains and turbidity control.
3️⃣  Rapid mobilization containers ready for immediate deployment, ensuring we can get equipment to your site without delay.
4️⃣  Marine event services – like installations for high‑profile openings on Sindalah Island. See case study.

These services ensure you not only get high-quality products, but also reliable execution and expert marine support, every step of the way.

Supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision

The establishment of local production aligns strongly with Saudi Arabia’s broader economic diversification strategy. By investing in domestic manufacturing, environmental innovation and workforce development, we strengthen resilience in the marine and coastal sector, delivering solutions that are fully aligned with Vision 2030.

Our Yanbu facility is more than just a factory. It’s a regional hub for marine innovation. It provides locally produced products and services that protect the Kingdom’s coastlines and support its growing tourism infrastructure.
