Ecocoast wins awards 2025

Last week was an incredible one for Ecocoast. It was marked by three major milestones highlighting our role in shaping a more sustainable future for coastlines and waterways.

1. Industry leadership recognition

We’re proud to share that the Leisure Marine Association (LMA) elected our CEO, Joachim de Jenlis, to its 2025-2026 board. This appointment underscores our commitment to advancing the leisure marine sector. In addition, it shows our focus on driving innovation.

We’re dedicated to engaging closely with the leisure marine community. Being part of the LMA board will allow us to actively contribute to the future of boating and yachting, and support marine sustainability efforts in the region.

2. Gold Award at the Global ESG Awards

At the Global ESG Awards 2025, Ecocoast received the Gold Award for Partnerships for Sustainable Development. This recognition highlights how our engineering expertise in debris control solutions supports cleaner waterways worldwide.

Two projects were part of the submission: the deployment of over 130 meters of Bolina Permanent Debris Booms in Sri Lanka’s Ja-Ela and Kelani Rivers, and over 80 meters of debris booms in Rotterdam’s Keilehaven, the Netherlands. In both locations, our systems intercept plastic pollution before it reaches open waters.

Gold winner at Global ESG AwardsThese projects reflect how engineering-driven solutions can play a pivotal role in global partnerships for sustainability. Both projects also illustrate the economic and environmental value of investing in waterway clean-up. Studies show that such interventions generate $2–$3 in benefits for every $1 spent, from reduced municipal cleaning costs to improved ecosystem services and enhanced tourism.

3. International Green Apple Environment Awards 2025

The International Green Apple Environment Awards 2025 recognized our submission Advancing SDG17 Through Strategic Partnerships for Cleaner Waterways as one of this year’s top winners.

Focused on debris control, the submission demonstrates the power of collective action and collaboration in tackling one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. This achievement adds to our growing collection of international sustainability awards. It reinforces our position as a trusted partner in marine protection and waterway conservation.

These two awards underscore our belief that sustainable progress requires strong, recurring partnerships. By combining engineering innovation with multi-sector collaboration, we are proving that practical, scalable solutions can make waterways cleaner and communities more resilient. They also directly advance the UN SDGs.

These three wins collectively highlight what Ecocoast stands for: leadership, collaboration and sustainability. We’re excited to continue building momentum, driving impact and advancing innovative solutions for safer, cleaner and more sustainable coastlines and waterways worldwide.
