Megaproject in KSA: Sustainable Navigation with Advanced Technology for Buoys
Sustainable navigation

As part of this megaproject in KSA, sustainable GISMAN Polyethylene Buoys GB-2600-ECO were installed, along with Ecobarrier Navigation Buoys ENB-1500. The buoys are demarcating the ferry and vessel routes to and from an island in Saudi, ensuring safe and efficient maritime traffic. They are complemented by advanced technology, specifically the A2NGO monitoring tool from GISMAN.

SUSTAINABLE BUOY SOLUTIONS

GISMAN GB-2600-ECO Polyethylene Buoys

The GISMAN GB-2600-ECO buoys stand out for their innovative design and sustainable attributes. Key features include: A diameter of 2.6 meters, a volume of 5.6 cubic meters, and can be installed in both coastal and offshore environments. With its modular design, the GB-2600-ECO buoys offer several advantages:

  • Lightweight: 30% lighter than hybrid buoys with similar volume, simplifying transportation and deployment.
  • Easy handling: 4 complete buoys can fit in a 40’ HC shipping container, and they can be assembled and handled with a forklift.
  • Low maintenance: Made entirely of polyethylene, these buoys require no painting ever and feature integrated ballast, reducing upkeep.

Ecobarrier Navigation Buoys ENB-1500

These Ecobarrier Navigation Buoys ENB-1500 provide high visibility and are designed to conform to IALA standards. Their benefits include:

  • Versatile installations: Suitable for nearshore, waterways, ports and harbors with water depths up to 30 meters.
  • Modular design: Components can be easily replaced if damaged or if a higher focal plane is needed.
  • Durable: Constructed from UV-stabilized virgin polyethylene suited for extreme weather conditions, and filled with closed-cell PU foam for additional protection in an unlikely event of damage.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY FOR BUOYS A2NGO

To ensure optimal performance and reliability, the buoys are equipped with GISMAN’s A2NGO monitoring tool. This powerful application offers:

  • Online access: Available through a secure web portal.
  • Remote monitoring: Allows for real-time monitoring of the buoys’ lanterns.
  • All-in-one display: Integrates AtoN status and AIS information into one single, user-friendly application.

IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINABLE NAVIGATION

The deployment of the GISMAN Polyethylene Buoys GB-2600-ECO and Ecobarrier Navigation Buoys ENB-1500, complemented by the A2NGO monitoring tool, is a crucial step towards promoting sustainable navigation in the region.
